|
|
This is my 1st entry for 2007 Since we left London, I got myself a job at the old place, met new people, got new friends and I'm back!!!! Home sweet home.....what more do i want
Tonite we gathered at Tupai-Tupai, as a farewell dinner for Mass + belated birthday celebration for Idzwan. The food was OK....if only I asked for what Lin ordered . I should say, we had a good laugh.....hope we can do it again, some other time but at a different place.
Mass - All the best at your new place and grass is always greener at the other side!!!!! Trust me

First of all, we would like to wish "Selamat Hari Raya" to all our friends & families, wherever you are
It's monday and here in Amsterdam it's already Hari Raya. We woke up early this morning, drove to Den Haag ( about 45 mins journey ) to the Malaysian embassy for Raya prayers & open house. The food was yummy!!! there were nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, acar, dalca, lemang (flew all the way from m'sia ok), ketupat, etc, etc.
OK, our stomach is full & we are done mingling around - next destination Madurodam. Madurodam is a scale model of Holland, yeah something like a miniature city. All the scale models are made in Madurodam - even the whole railway system and they are soooooo valuable that 1 of the model scales @ St. John's Basilica costs about 450,000 euros to re-build. Enjoy!!
For dinner, Nad made pasta caserole......2 thumbs up for our chef

Bunny's Birthday Party
|
|
Today, we went to my old work place @ Infusion to return my uniforms & managed to take a pic with Tara (my super nice senior supervisor). After that we headed to Tottenham Court Road/ Oxford Street & finally to the Singapore Chinese Restaurant for our dinner.
Bunny thought that we were having just a normal dinner with our close friends when the actual fact is that it's a surprise birthday party for him!!! Thanx guys for making the party a success!!! and we hope that all of you enjoyed the food and it's a pleasure having all of your company.
The restaurant is 1 of our fav. eating place, for those who are interested - the restaurant is located near the Holland Park tube station and we definitely recommend their Singapore laksa & crispy aromatic duck....yummy!!!

Bunny's Birthday
|
|
Well today is my bunny's birthday. "Happy Birthday Bunny!!!"
Even though it's his day today, we didnt do anything much. We were hangin out at home - doing our usual stuff but we made a point to go out for dinner & celebrate his birthday at our friend's restaurant - Annex 3.
We have always liked Annex 3, for us personally the restaurant is very unique and we have always been fascinated by the interior decor - 1 thing for sure you wont find such a restaurant in M'sia . The food was great especially my Lamb Rump and we had a great time together.

Being us, normally we'll think or plan ahead on what to eat/ cook for break fast. But last nite we were too lazy to think so we agreed to order Domino's.
As we woke up this morning, again the food issue arose - "ok think, what to have for break fast!!!". Finally we agreed to have rice with prawn dishes. So we went to Sainbury's in Camden, get all the necessary ingredients and voila - here are the results
Not bad right......

Touring the museums
|
|
We've been in London for about 1 year+ but we never actually visited any of their museums . Since we are soooo free nowadays, we went to Tate Modern & the National History Musem.
We didnt take many pictures at Tate Modern, obviously because camera is not allowed. But if you notice there are a few pictures of these twirly thingies and they are slides actually - A new feature of Tate Modern. We had the chance to slide from the 2nd highest position and I'm telling you it is a pretty exciting experience.
I'm not really into art but I prefer the old kinda art/ paintings compared to the new ones. There were very few paintings which I like in the Tate, 1 of it is a painting by Monet called Water Lilies.
Our 2nd destination - the National History Musem. We particularly went to the Dinosaurs & Mammals section but skipped the rest because we were too tired and decided to head off to Harrods. We took lots & lots of dinosaur pictures....so enjoy!!!. 1 feature which I like about the museum is the ceilings.
We ended our day by having dinner at our favourite fish & chips place with Keng Li.

Dinner at Asakusa
|
|
Since we'll be leaving UK soon, we make a point to visit or re-visit our favourite eating places
Last week we went to Marine Ices, I had the best seafood pasta & ice cream there. Few days after that we went to the 4 Seasons for some duck rice - yummy!!!! Sorry but at the time, it didnt occur to me to take pictures of our dishes.
Anyway tonite we had dinner at Asakusa - our favourite Japanese restaurant. I definitely recommend this place, the price is reasonable and the food is very authentic & traditional. For those who are interested, the restaurant is located near the Mornington Crescent tube station & it is advisable for you to make bookings in advance as this place is very popular.
